TB Alert
Tuberculosis (TB) kills over two million people every year, even though it is a curable disease.
TB Alert is the only TB charity working in the UK and internationally to fight Tuberculosis. Our goal is the control and ultimate eradication of TB by increasing access to effective treatment for all.
What we do
We raise awareness of TB as a global treat and as a disease resurgent in Britain to ensure that cases are diagnosed as early as possible and prevent further spread of the disease.
We advocate for global spending on TB work by governments and companies.
We provide a hardship fund for the poorest patients in the UK, information for patients and health professionals and resources to help ensure that patients continue their treatment to completion and avoid the risk of drug resistance.
We support projects in developing countries. Our priority is increasing detection of TB and therefore the number of people accessing treatment. We work with marginalised groups such as women, refugees, people with HIV, and people in remote or difficult-to-service regions, ensuring that treatment is accessible to patients so that they are not prevented from continuing their work, education and looking after their families.
